SIXTH PARADISE by MINYA

Minya's artistic research is a visual and conceptual representation of the contemporary society. The title Sixth Paradise refers to the beginning of a new geological era - the sixth - in which the main causes of the climate, structural and territorial changes of the planet Earth are attributable to humankind and its activity. Climate change, soil erosion, loss of biodiversity, melting of polar ice, global warming and much more are all consequences of human action. The representation of a stylized beehive metaphorically narrates the complex and reciprocal responsibility of each individual within a community and towards the environment. By applying a unique personal technique that mixes pure pigments, silver leaves and fresh raspberries on the transparent surface of Plexiglas or on the canvas, Minya takes the audience towards a three-dimensional perspective where the paintings are destined to become the reflection of light that projects them into an unreal dimension. The audience is invited to active mental participation in completing the work rather than being subjected to it.

The title of the exhibition "Blue Marble" recalls the famous photography of the Earth from space. It symbolizes the fragility and vulnerability of our planet and aims to sensitize our society to environmental problems.
Twelve abstract paintings of Minya’s latest production from the artistic series "GAPscape Urban Art" are made with pigments, silver leaves and city footprints.
